What about the Weather?
We had real cold and windy weather all week long and then on Saturday we had light winds, sunny and high of 40 degrees. We even had a great size of rocketeers attend the launch. We had lots of new faces too. We had lots of young men that liked playing in the creek.
Just look at the videos and pictures that Bob downloaded on our web site. A very good job that Bob did on the videos. Thanks a lot on the great job.
We had over 16 rocketeers sign in. We had over 55 flights. We had another Level 1 cert flight. Congrats to Andrew Fellure. We also have a new highest altitude leader if anybody was keeping that stat. Mike Malloy's rocket went to 8912 feet. The rocket landed to the east. Mike is a member of UDART and his team made the day very interesting. Just want to say "Trash Rocket". Steve Temple and Bob Goffena did a Video Rocket Chase. You will have to check the videos. Bob Goffena even launched his VelociRapter on a "Sparky" motor.
Some of the High Power flights that we had are: Adrew Fellure on a H128W for his L1 cert. Terry Temple with the Warrior rocket on a great flight on an I366R. Steve Temple launched his Arrow on a K800 and Bob's rocket was the other half of the Chase with a H180. Bill Good had a rough time. First rocket, "The Mongoose" used an I59WN long burn motor. No parachute deployed, but recovered. The "Shrek" on a H148R with a shock cord separation. but he found both parts. I flew my EZI-65 on a H210R for a nice ride. One of the head turning flights, was Gordon with his short and stubby rocket on a H999 Warp motor. You blinked, and the rocket was gone into the sky. Here is the break down of the motors used, (2) 1/4 A's (5) A's (5) B's -with one cluster flight (26) C's -with one 3 motor cluster (4) D's (3) E's (1) F (2) G's (4) H's (3) I's (1) J and (1) K.
Hope everyone had a great time and see everyone next year for 2010..... Thanks for a great year (2009)...... Lee Berry.... President......
