TORC Membership Enrollment Form

E-mail Print
We are Team Ohio Rocketry Club (TORC), Section #703 of the National Association of Rocketry (NAR). Before you fly or join the club, these are a few things you should know.  If you are in agreement with the requirements below, please print this form and fill out your personal information below.  Welcome to TORC!

NAR Safety Codes: We operate under the Model Rocket, High Power Rocket and Radio Controlled Boost Glider Safety Codes published by NAR. Your rockets, flights and recovery operations must be conducted in accordance with the codes.

Membership: To join TORC, you do not need to be a member of a national organization like NAR or TRA. We hope you would want to join NAR to support  rocketry activities. But if you fly high power, you must have a valid and current national membership card endorsed for your level of flight.

Waiver/ HPR Limits: Our wavier permits flights to a specified altitude. Your rockets must fly beneath this ceiling and not go above the highest limit.

Flight Cards: Flight cards must be filled out for each and every flight. If you are flying high power, you must fill out both sections on the card.  Flight cards will be provided at the field.

Igniters: Igniters for high power motors must not be installed until the rocket is on the pad.

RSO Decision Final: The RSO’s (Range Safety Officer) determination of a safe or unsafe flight is final. No appeal will be considered.

Fees: To join and fly rockets at launches with us, you must pay our annual dues. These dues are per family and will cover launch fees for the fiscal year of January to December. This fee provides operational, equipment and NAR section expenses. This fee is a donation to the club.  Please refer to the club website for all applicable fees and their current levels.

Announcements: Periodically, the Launch Control Officer (LCO), will make an announcement concerning safety. Please listen to these carefully and comply. A “Heads Up” call requires you to watch the rocket being launched throughout the complete fight. Be sure to cease whatever you are doing and watch. If you have children, please be with them during the “Heads Up” flight.

I have read the above requirements and will comply with them to the best of my ability. I understand that TORC does not guarantee my right to fly and that violation of these requirements might be grounds for my expulsion.
